Summer terrace
At the heart of the InterContinental Marseille, Sapide transforms an unused space into an elegant, convivial summer garden, where the Marseille spirit meets the refinement of a palace hotel.
Mission
To imagine a space capable of bringing into dialogue the refinement of the InterContinental and the popular authenticity of Ricard, two Marseille icons with strong identities.
Solution
The meeting between luxury and authenticity happens with complete discretion. Ricard's emblematic markers appear in subtle touches. The solar yellow, the brand's signature, lights up the counter and the back bar, while the round shapes, the eternal symbol of the aniseed drink, dress the bar and the standing tables. The typography and logos, taken from an old house typeface, recall the heritage of this true Marseille institution without ever overshadowing its illustrious host.

In this summer garden, the spirit of the South expresses itself naturally: you gather standing at the counter to comment on the game of pétanque, or settle into a deckchair to enjoy a refreshing drink. The space becomes a bridge between two worlds: the refinement of the InterContinental and the Marseille conviviality carried by Ricard.
This project marks the meeting of two institutions that share the same culture of excellence, hospitality and the art of living. Through quality materials, clean shapes and bold colours, Sapide - Atelier Design creates a place that is both chic and popular, timeless and alive, where Marseille tells its story through those who bring it to life.
